The Black Hills is an awesome place to see the spectacular fall colors and enjoy beautiful weather. Spearfish Canyon, Vanocker Canyon, Custer State Park, Pigtail Bridges on Iron Mountain Road (as seen in the picture by Angela Crisman), and many day drives are a few of the wonderful locations to experience the fall colors.

Whether you are an art, wine or beer, quilting, car or music enthusiast there’s a festival for you. Many area towns host these special events and the area’s larger festivities draw visitors from far and wide.

Hill City hosts many events throughout the year, check our facebook page for updates, so you can get your room booked at the Harney Peak Inn. A few events to mention is the Hill City Quilt Show & Sale in early September. Wine, Brew & BBQ in late August. We have one of our biggest parades the day after Thanksgiving, our Hill City Olde Tyme Christmas Parade & Celebration.
